There was a change of pace on Tuesday on the second day of our outdoor week as we met some of the horses and sent for a ride. There is a brand new pony at the Lambourne End centre for outdoor learning and we were the first group to be given the chance to meet her and go for a ride.
Whilst half our young people were being driven around the farm, the other group took on abseiling, which sounds easy, but when faced with a dark abyss on the inside of the climbing tower, it took a lot of nerve and plenty of encouragement from the others.
After lunch, we headed for the swimming pool, which was a welcome break on another blistering hot day. The young people love swimming and splashing about and also very much enjoyed pushing our staff into the water!
Day three is next, and it's water all the way!
