Sensory success!

We held an excellent workshop on Monday morning here at Sycamore Trust UK with almost two dozen parents attending.

Entitled 'Autism - an introduction to understanding sensory needs' the workshop was aimed at what the main senses are, how many there are, how to identify if your child/young person/adult is having difficulties with their senses and what you can put into place to help support them.

The presentation was delivered by Ann_Marie Lyons-Mummery, who said

      “It was great to see so many people access the workshop. It was apparent to many parent/carers attending that it isn’t just their child experiencing difficulties with their sensory needs. There was parent participation and lots of great questions raised and answered.”

Feedback from parents/carers;

  • After working with pre-school children for a number of years, it has benefitted me from learning more about sensory needs.
  • The ladies presenting were very kind and helpful
  • Very good session, things were explained in detai
  • Great session, lead by real life examples
  • I found it very useful and learnt so much stuff that I did not know before. I will be recommending to friends.
