We're always grateful to those individuals who choose to fund-raise on our behalf, so it's time to say a huge thank you to Lisa Cannings, who has been training for months in order to run her first ever 10,000m race in aid of Sycamore Trust. Lisa's daughter has been a member of our young ladies group and has been a star performer at Lambourne End in recent years, and Lisa wanted to raise some money for us so we can continue to help families in our local area.
Lisa is either jumping out of aeroplanes, abseiling down towers, strapping herself to the top of a wing of a vintage biplane or being knee deep in mud obstacles to fundraise for various charities however this was her biggest challenge yet as it involved months of training and physical exercise in preparation for her first 10k run.
The Colchester Stampede takes place in the fields surrounding Colchester Zoo so it was only fitting that Lisa got into the spirit of things and dressed up as a flamingo all in aid of Sycamore Trust UK for the race a few days ago.
Lisa and Sycamore Trust would like to say a big 'thank you' to all those who have kindly donated and supported her to reach £1245, and you can still donate by visiting her Just Giving page here; https://www.justgiving.com/page/lisa-cannings-1705410974137
The only question remaining is - what will she do next?!
