It's 2nd April and of course, that means it's World Autism Acceptance Day. To mark the occasion, the Sycamore Trust UK flag is flying above Barking Town Hall after a flag-raising ceremony this morning, attended by many council members and LBBD staff.

We were blessed with perfect weather - sunshine with a breeze - for the flag raising ceremony in Barking Square. The guests were welcomed by Cllr Elizabeth Kangethe, the council member for education attainment, before Sycamore's Steve Dixon explained just why events such as these are so important for the profile of the charity and of autism in general.
Finally, Cllr Darren Rodwell, the Leader of LBBD spoke, and outlined just how important Sycamore Trust UK is to the local community. The actual raising of the flag was done by a couple of our young people, Joseph Allford & Robert Lamb, who posed for photos before the flag was flown. Fortunately, we had a very welcome breeze as the flag went up the pole!
