The summer holidays are still on the horizon but we're already looking ahead to 2020! Specifically Dare to be Different Day in April. As we did this year, we are designating a day at the end of World Autism Awareness Week to highlight the issues and challenges faced by people on the autistic spectrum right here in East London.
This April was the first ever Dare to be Different Day and we achieved some wonderful awareness all over Havering, Redbridge and Barking & Dagenham. We were also the subject of a visit from the Minsiter of State for Health & Social Services, Matt Hancock, which attracted a great deal of interest at both local and national levels.
Once again, we're asking anyone taking part to wear something unusual to work or to school or even just to the shops on Dare to be Different Day on Friday 3rd April 2020 and pay £1 towards the Sycamore Trust UK. As we get closer to the date, we'll announce more activities and a sign up page on the website, but for the time being, just take a note of the date.
