New Havering All Age Autism Service announcement!
Following the great news that Sycamore Trust UK has won the tender to provide the All-Age Autism Service for the London Borough of Havering, we are delighted to announce our plans to support the autistic community in Havering for the next three years.
Unlike the previous contract, we will no longer operate from a fixed unit in the borough, and as you know the Autism Hub in Romford closed earlier this year. Instead, we will be taking the service around the borough, utilising a number of community facilities, in a bid to ensure that everyone who needs it can access our services and support.
The new all-age service begins in November 2024 and will see Sycamore Trust UK staff supporting families and individuals in the north and south of the borough, as well as continuing to run some services in Romford and offering on-line support on certain evenings each month.
Sycamore Trust UK services will be located at the Royals Youth Centre in Rainham and the My Place Community Centre and will include new pre-diagnostic service groups and peer groups. Alongside the new groups, we will continue with our regular Autism Support Groups which will switch from Romford to Royals and My Place in Harold Hill, alternating on Wednesdays between the two venues.
In addition, we will host an on-line evening Autism Support Group once a month and we will also be offering a pre-booked appointment service one evening a month, to ensure that as many residents as possible within the borough can access the service.
