Looking ahead!
We're extremely grateful to Manzurul Islam from our friends at Mullis & Peake in Romford for hosting our legal advice seminar last night at the Sycamore Trust UK premises in Dagenham. It's often a topic we prefer to ignore, but it's very important to be prepared, both legally and financially, when it comes to ensuring that loved ones and those that depend on us are properly cared for in the future.
Manzurul outlined the importance of making a will, appointing trustees and lodging Power of Attorney in the 90 minute seminar, which was attended by a mixture of Sycamore Trust members and Sycamore staff. He also discussed inheritance tax and referred to the tax advantages of donating to charity.
It was clear that the discussion had provided a great deal of food for thought, especially about the complex nature of financial matters if the questions that flooded in were anything to go by! Huge thanks to Manzurul for hosting such an interesting and thought provoking event.
