We held our latest Summer of Sport session on Thursday 10th August and thirteen young people joined us for two hours of multi-sports at Castle Green. The young people enjoyed the usual mix of sports on offer, and this week we brought them all together for some fun football-themed games.
There were some silky skills on display as the young people honed their dribbling, tacking and shooting in a series of drills and mini games. It was a really good work out and they all had a lot of fun. This week we want to thank our young volunteer team who have given up their time to make these our Summer of Sport project happen. We have three volunteers with an autism diagnosis who have supported the young people to participate, have fun and stay safe. They are Aadil (20), Charlie (21) and Jaime (18).
And we are delighted that the older brother of one of the participants volunteered to support his brother and work alongside the other volunteers supporting the wider group. Daniel (20) is pictured below with his younger brother Emmanuel.
A huge thank you to Aadil, Charlie, Jaime and Daniel and our fabulous funders Sport England! The last Summer of Sport session is on Thursday 17th August, it is open to the sons and daughters of Sycamore Trust members and the young people who attend our youth groups.
