We’ve got some great news to share, and it means that we have a new project coming soon!
Thanks to the support of the The National Lottery Community Fund, we will soon be able to announce details of a support worker service for the autistic communities of Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. Parents and carers of young people on the spectrum – keep your eyes peeled, because early next year, we’ll be creating a brokerage service for support workers, with the aim of enabling families in the three boroughs to access a support worker whenever they need to.
We know that there is a huge demand for support work, so in spring 2025, we’ll be creating a directory of support workers that we’ll be able to share with families. Our project will find the support workers, and make sure they meet the criteria required to work with vulnerable children, such as DBS checks and the like, and once we’ve established that they are suitable for the role, we’ll make their details available to those families in B&D, Havering and Redbridge who contact us for support.
This is something we’ve wanted to do for a while, and it’s only possible now thanks to the amazing support we’ve received from the National Lottery. Look out for more details next year!
