The Autism Ambassadors returned to Career Legal on Tuesday to deliver another of their CPD accredited autism awareness training sessions for staff at the recruitment agency.
The Ambassadors were making their second visit to Aldgate, having visited Career Legal in April this year, and this week's presentation was another success. Over a dozen staff attended, taking part in a range of interactive exercises and listening to the personal life experiences from our team.
Career Legal are a recruitment agency for the legal sector and they took part in the training as part of their participation in our employment project, designed to get young autistic adults in Havering some work experience, with a view to helping them on to the employment pathway.
The London Borough of Havering and Sycamore Trust UK have joined forces to provide employment support and advice to autistic residents across the Borough. Through employer engagement, we hope to increase the number of employment opportunities for the autistic community.
We are identifying autistic adults in Havering who are seeking employment and need a one to one service to enhance their skills and knowledge in applying for jobs and attending interviews. Any employers offering work experience will be provided with autism awareness training and an audit of the premises & recruitment process in return, and Career Legal were among the first to sign up.
