Our fifth annual #daretobedifferent day took place today, marking the end of a wonderful Autism Acceptance Week.
As ever, we set out to use this period to highlight the services provided by Sycamore Trust UK, as well as promoting acceptance and raising awareness of Autism, and maybe even raising some money as well, and we've achieved all our objectives.
The week began with our Ambassadors at Romford Library, whilst elsewhere in Romford, our Faces of Autism exhibition was unveiled at the Mercury Mall. At the same time, our #daretobedifferent flag was being raised above Barking Town Hall.
On Tuesday, we helped to launch the Havering All Age Autism Strategy and on Wednesday, our walkers raised over £2000, thanks to their trek from Romford to Dagenham and back again.
To cap off the week, Friday saw us dressing up the mark the end of Autism Acceptance Week, once again, the staff at Fix Auto in Dagenham have led by example with some outstanding outfits, including a very realistic boxer! We look forward to receiving more photos throughout the day and over the weekend of the various activities taking place all over Barking & Dagenham Havering and Redbridge, and it goes without saying, but a huge 'thank you' to everyone who has taken part.
