It may be hard to believe, but there are only 150 days to go until our dare to be Different day in 2025. It takes place every year during Autism Acceptance Week, which rolls around in 2025 at the beginning of April.
Autism Acceptance Week begins on 31st March and World Autism Acceptance day this year takes place on Wednesday 2nd April, which will also be the day of our annual sponsored 'Walk & Talk.
Our #daretobedifferent day will be on Friday 4th April 2025, and we'll be asking everyone in the boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge to wear something unusual and donate £1 to Sycamore Trust UK. Lots of schools have already signed up and we'll be visiting many of those schools in due course, to chat to parents, teachers and pupils about the work we do any why it is so important for the local community.
Autism is widely overlooked and frequently misunderstood, which is why Autism Acceptance Week is so important as it gives us the platform to talk about neuro-diversity to a much wider audience. It is such an important week for us at Sycamore Trust UK as we are able to increase acceptance and understanding of Autism and with any luck, we will also be able to give our fund-raising a boost.
