It might not be until next spring, but preparations are already under way for Dare to be Different 2020. Dare to be Different is our chance to raise awareness of autism, increase awareness of what we do at the Sycamore Trust in the boroughs of Havering, Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge, and raise vital funds to continue supporting local families.
Our campaign co-incides with World Autism Awareness Week, which next spring is in the diary for w/c 30th March. WAAW is our chance to put the conversation about autism on the front page of the public agenda and at the same time, remind everyone about the work we do at the Sycamore Trust.
As all of our members and supporters know, Autism is a lifelong developmental disorder that affects over 700,000 individuals in the UK alone, but as it is a hidden disability, it is often overlooked and Dare to be Different is our way of raising public conciousness of the condition.
Just as we did last year, we're asking individuals and organisations to wear something unusual during World Autism Awareness Week, preferably on Friday 3rd April and donate £1 to the Sycamore Trust UK. Last year was great fun and a huge success and we're hoping to be even bigger and better next year.
If you'd like to take part, we've produce a resource pack of logos and posters to help you get started. Drop us a line at marketing@sycamoretrust.org.ukand we'll send you the assets.
In the meantime, here's some images from D2BD 2019
